In a major boost for the Indiana Hoosiers football program, former USC running back Quinten Joyner has officially committed to join Indiana for the 2025 season. Joyner, a talented and dynamic player who entered the transfer portal after spending one season with the Trojans, brings a wealth of talent and experience that will strengthen the Hoosiers’ backfield for the upcoming campaign.

Joyner’s decision to leave USC comes after an impressive season where he showcased his speed, vision, and ability to make explosive plays on the ground. Though he saw limited action at USC behind a deep running back group, his potential was clear, and several programs quickly entered the mix, hoping to add him to their rosters. However, Joyner ultimately chose Indiana, citing the Hoosiers’ opportunity for immediate playing time, their commitment to developing athletes, and the program’s trajectory under head coach Tom Allen.

“I’m excited to join the Hoosiers and be a part of a program that is building something special,” Joyner said in his announcement. “I’ve been impressed by the coaching staff, and I believe Indiana is the right place for me to continue my growth as a player. I’m ready to make an impact and help the team reach new heights.”

Joyner’s skill set will provide a much-needed boost to the Hoosiers’ offense. Known for his explosive speed, ability to break tackles, and versatility as both a ball carrier and pass catcher, Joyner is expected to immediately contribute to Indiana’s running game. His ability to hit the edge and create big plays will complement the Hoosiers’ offensive strategy and provide quarterback Tayven Jackson with a reliable option in the backfield.

Head coach Tom Allen, who has worked tirelessly to elevate the Indiana program, expressed his excitement over adding Joyner to the roster. “Quinten is an exceptional talent, and we’re thrilled to have him join our team,” Allen said. “He brings a rare combination of speed, strength, and football IQ that will help take our offense to the next level. We look forward to working with him and watching him develop as a key contributor.”

Joyner’s commitment to Indiana also signals a growing trend of successful transfers into the program. The Hoosiers have worked hard to establish a competitive and welcoming culture for athletes transferring in, and Joyner’s decision to join reflects the strength of that environment. His addition further strengthens Indiana’s 2025 recruiting class, which includes a mix of promising high school recruits and talented transfer portal additions.

As Indiana prepares for the 2025 season, Joyner’s commitment is a significant step forward for the Hoosiers as they look to become a more competitive force in the Big Ten. Fans are eager to see how the dynamic running back will mesh with the team’s offensive system and whether he can help Indiana achieve its goals of competing at a higher level in the conference.
