In a major recruiting win, the Michigan Wolverines have secured the commitment of 4-star offensive tackle Gabriel Osenda. The highly coveted prospect flipped his pledge to Michigan after initially committing to Tennessee, choosing the Wolverines over stiff competition from Alabama, Nebraska, and his former team, the Volunteers.

Osenda, a 6-foot-6, 310-pound lineman from Texas, is regarded as one of the premier offensive tackle prospects in the 2025 recruiting class. Known for his blend of size, strength, and agility, Osenda excels in both pass protection and run blocking, making him an ideal fit for Michigan’s physical offensive line scheme. His ability to dominate defenders at the point of attack and reach the second level of the defense has drawn comparisons to current and former NFL stars.

“I felt like Michigan was the best place for me to grow as a player and as a person,” Osenda said in a statement. “The coaching staff, the culture, and the commitment to excellence really stood out. I’m excited to be part of something special in Ann Arbor.”

Osenda’s flip comes as Michigan continues to solidify its reputation as an elite destination for offensive linemen. Under head coach Jim Harbaugh and offensive line coach Sherrone Moore, the Wolverines have produced some of the best offensive line units in the country, winning the Joe Moore Award in consecutive seasons. This track record of success played a significant role in Osenda’s decision to flip his commitment.

For Tennessee, Alabama, and Nebraska, missing out on Osenda is a tough blow. Tennessee had built significant momentum in his recruitment, while Alabama and Nebraska were viewed as potential landing spots given their strong relationships with the talented lineman. However, Michigan’s consistency in competing at the highest level, coupled with their player development track record, ultimately tipped the scales in their favor.

Osenda’s commitment provides a significant boost to Michigan’s 2025 recruiting class, which is shaping up to be one of the best in the country. He joins a group of talented prospects who are expected to keep the Wolverines at the forefront of college football for years to come.

With Osenda in the fold, Michigan’s future offensive line looks as dominant as ever. As the Wolverines continue to target top-tier talent, this latest addition underscores their ability to recruit and develop players capable of competing for Big Ten titles and national championships. Osenda’s flip is a testament to Michigan’s growing influence in the recruiting landscape and its commitment to maintaining its status as one of college football’s elite programs.
