Duke guard, Jeremy Roach, has been making waves in the college basketball world with his impressive performances on the court. However, what many fans may not know is that Roach’s championship dreams began in a rather unlikely place – a Texas bathroom.

In a recent interview, Roach revealed that his love for basketball was ignited when he was just a young boy growing up in Houston, Texas. It was during a family road trip, when Roach’s father, a huge basketball fan, took him to a bathroom in a Texas gas station to show him a video of Duke’s 2015 national championship team on his phone.

“I remember my dad showing me that video, and I was just amazed by the way the team played together, the way they moved the ball, and the way they defended,” Roach said. “From that moment on, I knew that I wanted to be a part of a team like that. I wanted to be a champion.”

Roach’s father, who played college basketball himself, saw the fire in his son’s eyes and knew that he had to nurture it. He began taking Roach to basketball camps and clinics, where he could learn from some of the best coaches and players in the game.

As Roach grew older, his passion for basketball only intensified. He worked tirelessly to develop his skills, spending hours in the gym practicing his jump shot, dribbling, and defense. His hard work paid off, as he became one of the top high school players in the country, earning himself a scholarship to play for Duke.

Now, as a key player for the Blue Devils, Roach is living his dream. He’s playing for a program that has a rich tradition of excellence, and he’s competing against the best teams and players in the country.

But Roach’s journey to Duke wasn’t easy. He faced numerous challenges along the way, including injuries, setbacks, and self-doubt. However, through it all, he never lost sight of his goal – to become a champion.

“I remember my dad telling me that if I wanted to be a champion, I had to be willing to put in the work,” Roach said. “He told me that it wouldn’t be easy, but if I stayed focused and dedicated, I could achieve my dreams. I’ve carried those words with me throughout my career, and they’ve driven me to be the best player I can be.”

As Roach and the Blue Devils prepare for another deep run in the NCAA tournament, he’s reminded of that moment in the Texas bathroom when his championship dreams were born. He knows that it’s been a long and winding road, but he’s grateful for every step of the journey.

“It’s crazy to think about how far I’ve come,” Roach said. “From that bathroom in Texas to the Cameron Indoor Stadium, it’s been an incredible journey. I’m grateful for my family, my coaches, and my teammates for supporting me every step of the way. Now, it’s time to go out and make some more memories.”
