Zach Edey may have moved on to the NBA, but the core of Fletcher Loyer, Braden Smith, and Trey Kaufman-Renn will once again suit up in black and gold. Their decision to return sends a clear message — Purdue isn’t done chasing greatness.
“We have a group that’s hungry,” Painter said in a recent interview. “These guys know what it takes now. The experience, the heartbreak, the fight — they’re coming back with a purpose.”
The return of the Big 3 gives Purdue one of the most experienced and cohesive units in college basketball. Smith’s court vision, Loyer’s scoring versatility, and Kauf
