The Memphis Grizzlies have every reason to be excited about their future after rookies Zach Edey and Jaylen Wells were both named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. It’s a rare achievement for any franchise to land one player on the prestigious list—let alone two. But Edey and Wells have defied expectations all season, emerging as key contributors on a young Grizzlies squad in transition.

Edey, the 7-foot-4 center out of Purdue, made an immediate impact with his commanding presence in the paint. Known for his rim protection and rebounding prowess, he also surprised critics with his polished post moves and improving mid-range game. Averaging a double-double in his rookie year, Edey quickly earned the trust of the coaching staff and became a reliable anchor on both ends of the floor.

On the wing, Jaylen Wells delivered an equally impressive debut season. The sharpshooter out of Washington State brought energy, versatility, and a confident scoring touch. Wells consistently knocked down threes, attacked the basket with fearlessness, and proved to be a clutch performer in tight games. His ability to guard multiple positions and stretch the floor gave Memphis a much-needed boost in their offensive arsenal.

Together, Edey
