Robby’s versatility on the field has been evident since high school, where he excelled as a receiver, running back, and return specialist. His dynamic playmaking ability quickly made him a standout in Miami’s 2023 recruiting class.
However, his journey at Miami took an unexpected turn. After starting his college career as a wide receiver, Washington transitioned to defensive back in 2024 to address team needs. “Robby is an excellent athlete, really good football player,” Coach Cristobal noted. “We need a little help at the defensive back spot… We believe he will be an elite corner.”
Despite the position change and challenges, Robby’s commitment to the Hurricanes remained unwavering. “Miami’s my crib,” he affirmed. “It’s where I’m from. It’s hometown.”
