The Oklahoma Sooners have secured a significant commitment for their 2026 recruiting class with the addition of four-star running back DeZephen Walker. Walker, a standout from Raymore-Peculiar High School in Peculiar, Missouri, announced his pledge to Oklahoma on Monday, following an official visit to Norman over the weekend. His father, Demetrios Walker, confirmed the commitment via social media.([on3.com][1], [si.com][2])

Standing 5-foot-11 and weighing 190 pounds, Walker is ranked as the No. 18 running back nationally by Rivals and holds a four-star rating from Rivals, On3, and ESPN. In the 2024 season, he rushed for 957 yards and eight touchdowns on 176 carries, averaging 5.4 yards per carry. Across his high school career, he has accumulated over 2,000 rushing yards.([si.com][2])

Oklahoma extended an offer to Walker on May 9, 2025, and he is the only player to have taken an official visit to the Sooners during the recent Brent Venables Football Camps. Prior to this, Walker had official visits scheduled with Kansas, Kansas State, and Nebraska. Notably, since Oklahoma’s offer, the only other school to extend a scholarship to Walker is Washington State.([si.com][2])

This commitment adds to a growing 2026 class for Oklahoma, which includes four-star quarterback Jaden O’Neal, four-star tight end Ryder Mix, and three-star offensive lineman Will Conroy. The addition of Walker bolsters the Sooners’ backfield, providing a dynamic and versatile playmaker who can contribute both as a rusher and in the passing game.([si.com][3], [on3.com][1])

With Walker’s commitment, Oklahoma continues to build momentum in the 2026 recruiting cycle, positioning themselves for a strong future on the gridiron.
