Several standout players from the University of Tennessee men’s basketball program have taken the next step in their careers, officially signing deals with NBA teams following the 2024 NBA Draft. After a season in which the Volunteers made a deep run in the NCAA Tournament, several players caught the attention of pro scouts — and now they’re getting their shot at the next level.
Among the biggest names is Dalton Knecht, the explosive guard/forward who was selected in the first round by the Los Angeles Lakers. Knecht, known for his scoring versatility and clutch shooting, quickly agreed to a rookie-scale contract with the team. His Summer League debut is already highly anticipated, as fans expect him to contribute off the bench and grow into a key rotation player for the Lakers.
Another former Vol, Zakai Zeigler, went undrafted but didn’t have to wait long before the Memphis Grizzlies extended an offer for a two-way contract. The undersized yet fearless point guard impressed teams with his tenacity, court vision, and leadership on both ends of the floor.
