NC State baseball continues to strengthen its roster through the transfer portal, landing a key piece in former LSU infielder Mikey Ryan. The SEC transfer brings experience, versatility, and a highly competitive background to the Wolfpack’s infield for the upcoming season.
Ryan, a native of Pennsylvania, spent his freshman year with the LSU Tigers, one of the premier programs in college baseball. Though he saw limited action in Baton Rouge, Ryan was part of an elite roster loaded with talent and benefited from playing under head coach Jay Johnson and within the highly competitive SEC environment. His decision to enter the transfer portal stemmed from a desire for increased playing time and a better fit, which he now believes he’s found in Raleigh.
