**UK Star Kyle Macy Talks New Book at Local Chamber Luncheon**
**Lexington, KY —** Former University of Kentucky basketball standout Kyle Macy was the guest of honor at a local chamber of commerce luncheon on Thursday, where he discussed his new book, shared memorable stories from his career, and offered insights into leadership and teamwork.
Hosted by the Lexington Chamber of Commerce, the event drew a large crowd of business leaders, fans, and community members eager to hear from the UK legend. The luncheon, held at the Hilton Downtown Lexington, served as both a networking event and a celebration of Kentucky’s deep-rooted sports culture.
Macy, a household name in Kentucky basketball history, played for the Wildcats from 1977 to 1980. During his time at UK, he helped lead the team to the 1978 NCAA Championship and earned All-American honors. Since retiring from professional basketball, Macy has served as a coach, broadcaster, and now, author.
His new book, *“From the Line: Lessons from the Hardwood,”* blends stories from his playing days with reflections on leadership, perseverance, and character. During his keynote speech, Macy explained how basketball served as a metaphor for life and business, touching on themes such as discipline, communication, and staying calm under pressure.
“Basketball taught me a lot more than how to shoot free throws,” Macy told the crowd. “It taught me about preparation, teamwork, and how to handle setbacks. Those are lessons that apply in the boardroom just as much as on the court.”
