On February 11, 2025, Tiller, a 6’5″, 225-pound prospect from Fairburn, Georgia, announced his decision to decommit from the Aggies. Tiller, who had been committed to Texas A&M since November, is ranked as the No. 3 tight end and No. 5 overall player in Georgia by 247Sports. His decommitment followed visits to Auburn and Florida State, with Auburn emerging as a strong contender for his services .
Additionally, three-star cornerback Ryan Gilbert from North Forney, Texas, also decommitted from the Aggies on February 12, 2025. Gilbert, who was ranked No. 472 nationally by 247Sports, announced his open recruitment status via social media .
Despite these setbacks, Texas A&M’s 2026 recruiting class remains strong. The Aggies have secured commitments from several high-profile recruits, including four-star safety Chance Collins from Mansfield Timberview High School in Texas. Collins, standing at 6’1″ and weighing 185 pounds, chose Texas A&M over offers from Utah, Texas Tech, and West Virginia. In his junior season, he recorded 20 tackles, two for loss, and six interceptions, while also contributing offensively with 16 receptions for 310 yards and two touchdowns .
Furthermore, the Aggies have added four-star cornerback Camren Hamiel, the top-ranked player in Arizona for the 2026 class, who chose Texas A&M over Oregon and Indiana. Hamiel, a 6’1″, 180-pound athlete from Desert Edge High School, is known for his versatility and physical attributes .
