The Texas Longhorns are ramping up summer recruiting as five-star offensive tackle Felix Ojo (Lake Ridge HS, Mansfield, TX) confirmed an official visit this past weekend—a trip that left a strong impression. Ojo, the No. 5 recruit nationally and No. 1 offensive tackle in the 2026 class per 247Sports, has Texas clearly in the mix .

Hosted by current Longhorn lineman Trevor Goosby, Ojo praised the Texas program after his visit: “Man, the weekend was great,” he told Inside Texas, adding that Goosby “is the guy Texas sees me as being next” . He later told OrangeBloods that he “loved” the visit and considers Texas “very high” on his list, calling them “the team to beat” .

Ojo’s excitement comes as Texas doubles down on building elite trench talent in preparation for SEC play. The Longhorns already booked summer OV weekends for several high-profile prospects, reinforcing their commitment to upgrading the line play .

While Ojo catches national attention, Texas also hosts top recruits on both sides of the ball this weekend, including five-star linebacker Tyler Atkinson (Grayson, GA). The nation’s No. 1 LB per 247Sports Composite and ranked ninth overall, Atkinson is scheduled to visit after trips to Oregon, Georgia, and Clemson . Atkinson disclosed to On3: “We have some good relationships out there, we know what Texas is about and we want to get back out there and ask a few more questions” .

Adding to the strong weekend lineup, Texas is hosting top-10 defensive lineman James “JJ” Johnson (Cape Coral, FL), ranked No. 1 DL in the class by On3, for his official visit—after backing out of a Syracuse trip—marking another major defensive pull .

Texas’ OV weekends have been outfitted with high-end experiences, including accommodations at the Four Seasons and a fleet of Lamborghinis to impress elite talent .

As Texas cements its presence in the 2026 cycle, OL Ojo’s enthusiasm, along with visits from Atkinson and Johnson, signals a focused, high-level recruiting push. With coaches like Kyle
