LSU Football continued its momentum on the recruiting trail with the latest addition of standout athlete Jamaurye Cooley, who officially committed to the Tigers’ 2026 class. The commitment, announced over the weekend, marks another significant step for head coach Brian Kelly and his staff as they aim to build one of the most dominant recruiting classes in the country.

Cooley, a dynamic 6-foot-1, 180-pound prospect from Mississippi, has been turning heads with his elite athleticism and two-way capabilities. While listed as an athlete, he has shown flashes of brilliance both at wide receiver and in the defensive secondary. His versatility and natural instincts on the field have made him one of the most intriguing prospects in the Southeast.

LSU’s coaching staff, particularly recruiting coordinator Frank Wilson, has maintained a strong presence in Mississippi, and Cooley’s decision signals the Tigers’ continued success in pulling top talent from SEC territory. He chose LSU over offers from programs like Ole Miss, Mississippi State, and Texas A&M — a testament to the growing appeal of Brian Kelly’s vision in Baton Rouge.

Cooley cited LSU’s family atmosphere, player development, and the opportunity to compete at the highest level as major factors in his decision. “LSU just felt like home,” Cooley said during his announcement. “The coaches made me feel like a priority from day one, and I can see myself thriving in that environment.”
