The Texas A&M Aggies have bolstered their 2026 recruiting class with a significant commitment flip, securing four-star running back Jonathan Hatton Jr., who previously pledged to the Oklahoma Sooners. This acquisition not only enhances the Aggies’ offensive prospects but also underscores head coach Mike Elko’s recruiting acumen.

Hatton, renowned for his explosive speed and agility, is considered one of the nation’s top running back prospects. His decision to switch allegiance to Texas A&M reflects the program’s growing appeal and competitive stature in college football recruiting.

This commitment is part of a broader trend for the Aggies, who have assembled a formidable 2026 class. According to On3, Texas A&M boasts ten commitments, all rated as four-star prospects, giving them a 100% blue-chip rating and positioning them sixth nationally in recruiting rankings. Key additions include wide receiver Aaron Gregory and offensive lineman Lamar Brown, further solidifying the class’s strength.

While the Aggies have experienced some decommitments, such as tight end Xavier Tiller and defensive lineman Trashawn Ruffin, the addition of Hatton Jr. signifies the program’s resilience and continued momentum in attracting top-tier talent.

As Texas A&M prepares for the upcoming season, the infusion of talent like Hatton Jr. offers optimism for the team’s future performance and competitiveness within the SEC.
