In a major recruiting victory for head coach Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes, **Jake Kreul**, one of the nation’s elite prospects in the class of 2026, has officially committed to the Buffs. The announcement came via social media, where the highly touted linebacker shared photos in a Colorado uniform and captioned it simply: “I’m home. #SkoBuffs.”

Kreul, a **four-star linebacker** out of Cardinal Mooney High School in Sarasota, Florida, is ranked among the **top 15 linebackers nationally** and brings a combination of size, speed, and football IQ that has made him one of the most sought-after defensive players in the country. Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 220 pounds, Kreul is known for his explosive tackling ability, sideline-to-sideline speed, and leadership on and off the field.

His commitment comes after taking official visits to programs like Florida, Miami, and Penn State, but in the end, it was Deion Sanders and the energy around Colorado’s rebuilding project that won him over.

“Coach Prime has built something different at Colorado,” Kreul said in an interview following his announcement. “He’s changing the culture, and I want to be part of that. I felt the love from the moment I stepped on campus, and it just felt like family.”

Kreul’s junior season was a dominant one. He racked up **95 total tackles**, including **14 tackles for loss** and **5 sacks**, while also forcing three fumbles and returning an interception for a touchdown. His instincts and versatility allow him to play inside or outside linebacker, making him a dynamic fit for Colorado’s defensive scheme.

With Kreul’s commitment, Colorado continues to build a formidable 2026 class, fueled by Deion Sanders’ national recruiting presence and ability to connect with elite athletes. Kreul joins a growing list of top-tier recruits who see Boulder as a destination for more than just football — but for personal growth and preparation for the next level.

“I know Coach Prime can help take my game to the next level,” Kreul added. “But he also cares about developing us as young men, not just athletes.”

This marks a significant step forward for the Buffaloes, who continue to reshape their roster with SEC-level talent. For a program looking to climb back into national relevance, landing a player like Jake Kreul is a clear sign that Colorado is becoming a legitimate force on the recruiting trail once again.

Buff Nation has every reason to be excited — Jake Kreul is the real deal.
