Four-star linebacker Elijah Chancellor has officially committed to the University of Georgia, becoming the latest blue-chip addition to the Bulldogs’ 2025 recruiting class. The 6-foot-2, 225-pound standout from Cedar Hill High School in Texas made his announcement via a video posted to social media Monday evening, choosing Georgia over a strong list of finalists that included Texas, LSU, and Alabama.

Chancellor’s commitment is a major win for Kirby Smart and the Georgia staff, who have made him a top priority throughout the recruiting cycle. Known for his explosive tackling, elite sideline-to-sideline speed, and high football IQ, Chancellor has been a dominant force at the high school level and projects as an impact player in the SEC.

“I chose Georgia because it felt like home from the moment I stepped on campus,” Chancellor said. “The coaches, the culture, the expectations—it all lined up with what I want for my future, both on and off the field.”

Georgia linebackers coach Glenn Schumann played a key role in Chancellor’s recruitment, building a close relationship with the Texas native and emphasizing the program’s track record of developing NFL-caliber talent at the position.
