In a major recruiting win for the Mountaineers, a top-tier high school football prospect has committed to West Virginia University, turning down offers from powerhouse programs in both the SEC and Big Ten. The decision sent shockwaves through the college football world and marks a turning point for WVU head coach Neal Brown’s recruiting momentum.

The four-star recruit, a dynamic two-way athlete ranked among the top 100 players nationally, held offers from schools like Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, and Michigan. Despite the lure of bigger brands and brighter national spotlights, he chose Morgantown as the place to develop his game and make an impact.

In a statement released on social media, the star explained his decision: “West Virginia felt like home. The coaches showed real love from day one, and the fans are passionate beyond belief. I want to build something special and put West Virginia back in the national conversation.”

WVU’s staff, particularly defensive coordinator Jordan Lesley and wide receivers coach Bilal Marshall, played key roles in the recruitment. The Mountaineers presented a clear development plan and a chance for early playing time, both of which factored heavily into the prospect’s decision. WV
